Annie is another example of a successful blogger who doesn’t spend all her time keeping up with the latest technology. She also shares some great apps that haven’t been shared yet. I think a key takeaway is to focus your energy on making the most of the tools that are working for you and not wasting time looking for the “perfect solution.” Just sitting down and blogging is more effective than the most techie app or gadget.

Without further ado, Annie’s gadget and app recommendations:

1. What computer do you use? (i.e. MacBook Air)
MacBook Pro

2. What kind of phone do you have? (i.e.Samsung Galaxy III)
iPhone 4s

3. Do you use a tablet? If so, what model? (i.e. iPad 4)
No, I want one real bad though. πŸ™‚

4. What blog platform do you use? (WordPress, Blogger, Typepad etc)
WordPress

5. If applicable, what blog theme/child theme do you use? (Genesis, Thesis, WooThemes etc.) Or feel free to use this space to give a shout out to your designer.

6. What web hosting company do you use? Do you recommend them?
http://webexhosting.comΒ … Yep! Lauren is super easy to work with and available whenever I break my blog. (Which sadly happens far more than it should at this point.)

7. What app do you use to write your posts?
Well…. I’m oldschool I guess. I just write my posts in WordPress. πŸ™‚

8. How do you capture your blog ideas? (Notebook, Evernote, Word, Sticky notes etc.)
Toodledo

9. What are your most useful computer/web apps?
n/a

10. What are your most useful phone/tablet apps?
All the social media ones- Facebook, Facebook Pages, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest.

I love Diptic, Phonto, and PicStitch for messing around with photos before I post them on Instagram. (I’m not a talented photo editor or anything, so I don’t do much with the pictures besides what filters do.) πŸ™‚

I also use the SouthWest app all the time as well as TripIt for travel plans. The Starbucks one is helpful- I keep a drink budget on there each month. Lose It is great for keeping on track with my eating and exercise.

I also have Viber and WhatsApp to easily keep in touch with my friends in other parts of the world.

(Do I have to mention that EHarmony and Match.com both have good apps? Maybe I have them on my phone. πŸ™‚ That’s all we’ll say about that.)

11. What other tech do you use? (Camera for photos, mic for podcasting…etc.)
n/a
