I forgot to mention in Wednesday’s post a cool thing that this week’s featured interviewer is doing. Here’s Stephanie to tell you all about it:
Every once in a while I like to do incredibly huge projects that make me ever-so-slightly insane, like put together and run The Ultimate Homemaking eBook Bundle Sale (together with my husband, and my bundle sale partner, Erin of The Humbled Homemaker). The bundle sale includes a massive number of other bloggers that I love, love, love and it happens to be running NEXT week! If I do say so myself, it is a fantastic deal for anyone looking for resources and encouragement for their homemaking (which includes mothering, cleaning, home decor, beauty and fashion, children’s education, health and fitness, recipes and kitchen help, and even work-from-home and blogging). You can see what it’s all about here.
More Exciting News…
I hope you’ve enjoyed the amazing interviews so far with Tsh and Stephanie. We have great things coming up too, including interviews with NYT Best Selling author (one of my very favorite bloggers) Melanie Shankle, Mandi Ehman, Emily Freeman, Amanda White and many more.
(In my best infomercial voice…) But wait! There’s more…!
Blog Planning Kit
I’m also working with Katie Orr on creating an entire Blog Planning Kit. It’s similar to the Weekly Blog Planner that you get free when you subscribe to the interviews (do you have yours yet?! Get it in the sidebar of the blog!), but the Blog Planning Kit takes it all to a whole new level.
A weekly content planner is only truly useful if you know WHY you’re blogging. Without a vision, writing posts is just like running in a hamster wheel. You’ll stay busy but you won’t make much progress.
So, if you’ve been busy blogging, but haven’t seen much progress, the Blog Planning Kit will be just what you need.
With over 25 different forms, I’ll walk you through the process of determining WHY you blog, WHERE you want to go and exactly HOW you are going to get there. There will also be content planning forms, brainstorming forms, blog maintenance forms and all kinds of goodies.
We are on track to launch the kit at the beginning of May. Stay tuned!
Time Management Coffee Talk Class
Trying to manage our time without first developing a thorough plan is like water skiing without a boat. We need a vision and plan to pull us along. Without it we have no momentum.
I’m pushing back the launch of the Time Managment Coffee Talk Class to Mid-April. The Blog Planning Kit is a better first step for you, so I’ll be focusing my energy there for the next couple weeks.
Blogging Tip: Take A Power Hour
If you need to get stuff done NOW and you can’t wait for the Time Management Class or the Blog Planning Kit, then here is a simple tip for you. Take a “Power Hour.”
A Power Hour looks something like this:
- Sit down at desk.
- Work on that one IMPORTANT thing that you’ve been putting off.
- Don’t get up or goof off for an hour.
An h-o-u-r? Is that even possible? Will Twitter go on without my presence?!
I know. I had the same thoughts, but I’ve been trying it lately and I survived. It IS possible, and I’ve gotten more done this past month than I have in the past six months.
Plan a power hour and leave a comment here to tell me what you’re going to do during your hour. Then check back later and tell us if you got it done. (It’s all about accountability, friends…)
