Erin Odom has accomplished so much in the 3 years she’s been blogging. Not only has she built her own successful blog, but she also started an incredibly successful joint venture business with Stephanie Langford. In this interview we talk a lot about how she is learning to maximize her use of Pinterest and how she has actually grown her Facebook audience and engagement since the algorithm change (what?!), but I think a huge key to her success is what you’ll hear in between our social media conversation.
She’s made genuine friendships along the way that have helped her learn and grow her blog faster than she could have on her own. I love how strategic she is in her blogging, but I know you’ll also glean wisdom from her kindness, courage and authenticity as well.

Thanks SO much for having me, Kat! I truly love listening to your podcast each week, and it was a honor to chat with you! Hope we can meet in person one day. You are making a difference in the lives of MANY by encouraging bloggers!!!
Erin,
It was so fun to have you on the show! You shared such fantastic information and I truly enjoyed chatting with you. Hopefully, we’ll connect in person at a conference soon!
I’d love that! Maybe I will make it out to Declare on day!
Great podcast, ladies! Erin, I love how you said “Slow and steady wins the race.” I see other bloggers rushing ahead and doing all these big things–good things!–while I’m over here going slowly and intentionally. It’s so easy to feel like I should be doing more, more, more, but I don’t want to get burned out or neglect my family and my other responsibilities. Thanks for sharing your story and helping me feel better about my slower process!
Brittany,
I’m glad you enjoyed our chat. I definitely agree with Erin that slow and steady is the way to go!
You look like you have a great blog, Brittany! You are welcome to guest post on my site if you want!
Thank you both for this! I learned so much. And now I must go back and listen to the Pinterest discussion all over again. 🙂
Melissa,
I did the same thing! I love all the tips and wisdom Erin shared. Glad you enjoyed it too!
I scheduled a Facebook post for 3:00 am and 1/5 of our audience saw it (over 1,000 of 5,000+)! I would have never thought so many would see it at that time. Thanks for the idea!
Oh I’m so glad it worked for you, too!!
Thank you both for this podcast. It was full of wisdom and practical advice. I really did feel like I could be a blogging ninja after listening to it.
Love what I am hearing. With 2 toddlers I listen to the podcasts in spurts while I am cooking meals. I appreciate most how open Erin is with hearing from God and going with it. Kat I can’t wait to meet you at Declare Conference.
Ma – I’m so glad you’ll be there! Can’t wait to chat with you.
Great chat, Erin! I remember you mentioning the 3 am Facebook thing back when that happened. It’s so interesting how different things work for different people with different audiences. Keep up the good work – I just love your genuine, sweet spirit!
I really enjoyed listening to this podcast. With a four-month old baby, I am definitely in Erin’s 3 am club! I appreciate Erin’s humility and benefited from so many great ideas.
I am also loving this podcast as a whole. As a new blogger, I have a lot to learn. It can be easy to get excited and set goals, then want them to come as quickly as possible. I am trying to be mindful of being intentional with my days now, and to have a long-term mindset. I am thankful for the encouragement and perspective I am getting from HTB.
This was an awesome episode (they all are really)! Thank you Kat and Erin for sharing so much great stuff. I’m getting ready to schedule some posts from my archive! Thanks for the fantastic ideas.
Glad you liked it Lisa!
This was super helpful. I love all the practical advice and wisdom. I’m interested in the Pinterest networking/scheduling site, but I can’t figure out how to spell it…
I finally figured it out 🙂 Ahalogy
Yes–thanks for posting that!
Sorry I wasn’t able to reply sooner, but I’m glad you got it!
Thank you for all the incredible wisdom and information you shared. I was wondering if you could expand a little on what it looks like to “pour into your readers” ? Is this like creating valuable content? Thank you!
Laura,
Yes, I’m pretty sure that’s what she means.
I’m a big fan of Erin’s and I love, love, LOVE the insight in this podcast! Thank you Erin and Kat! I’ve been blogging for almost two years now and there’s still so much to learn. Like Erin said, slow and steady. 🙂
So much good info in this one! I am going to send it out to my mastermind-ish group. Really good stuff! Thanks ladies!!!
