Don’t Miss My Webinar This Thursday

Quick Note from Kat: I’m crazy excited to announce that I’ll be teaching a webinar this Thursday with the amazing ladies over at the Influence Network. You don’t need to be a member of the network to attend the class, so I hope you’ll join us for a fun, inspiring and challenging evening.

I’ll be teaching on:

The Power of Planning – Learn how to connect your big dreams to your daily tasks and make things happen.

You have big dreams, but without an actionable plan, they’re just dreams. This class will walk you through the exact process of outlining your big ideas, turning them into goals, breaking them down into projects and ultimately turning them into actionable tasks you can start on tomorrow.

Whether you are a blogger, entrepreneur, writer or just want a clearer vision for your life, what you’ll learn in this class will give you a simple roadmap of how to make your dreams, your reality.

God make you for a purpose and He gave you talents and passions, it’s time to put it all together and make a plan. Sign up now.

I’ll cover some of the same content as the Blog Planning Bootcamp, but I’ll also cover more territory and I’ll show you how to apply it to more than just blogging. It will be a live, interactive session, so I really hope to see some of you lovelies there! Click here for more information or to sign up!

Meet Mary DeMuth

I’m thrilled today to introduce you to Mary DeMuth. Many of you are already familiar with her, but for those who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her yet, Mary is a speaker, author (of over a dozen books!), and she has been blogging for nearly 10 years. She has some serious wisdom and experience to share with us this week.

1. Give us a quick intro to you, your family and your blog.
I’m the author of 15 traditionally published books, my latest being The Wall Around Your Heart (Thomas Nelson). I speak around the country and the world, helping people live uncaged, freedom-infused lives. I’ve got an amazing family–a husband of almost 23 years, Patrick, a daughter in college, Sophie, a son who’s a senior, Aidan, and a daughter who is a sophomore, Julia. We have two fighting hissy-fit cats and one very sweet golden retriever who is afraid of water and can’t fetch.

2. Tell us your blogging story.
I’m a veteran blogger, which makes me laugh a bit because I never really set out to be one. When our family moved to France to plant churches near Nice, I set up a blog on to keep folks posted about our adventures there. I blogged before I was published, having my first two books published in 2005. I have over 2500 posts, which I am now trying to curate (eventually) into ebooks.

3. Tell us about a blogging “success” or “failure” that taught you a powerful lesson.
I’ve learned there’s a fine line between being authentic and being flat out angry. My authentic posts where I expose my many weaknesses get a lot of interaction and “me toos.” But my angry ones just sound mad and very few are moved by them.

4. What are the intangibles that have helped you succeed?
I view my blog as a community, so that’s why I update it regularly. I suppose that means I plan my blogs. Used to be I’d blog five days a week. Now I’m down to three days. I’m pretty disciplined.

Come back Wednesday to read all of Mary’s thoughts on social media and writing and on Friday she’ll share her Blogging Gadget and App recommendations. Stay tuned!
